SALYAN: Nine people were injured in a jeep accident in Salyan on Sunday. The vehicle, bearing registration number Lu 1 Ja 1637, was en route from Rim, Salyan to Tulsipur, Dang when it lost control and veered off the road.
The accident occurred around 11:30 AM in Lamidanda, Ward No. 3 of Kapurkot, along the alternative route section between Kapurkot and Kimuchaur.
According to Baburam Basnet, the spokesperson and police inspector at the District Police Office, Salyan, the jeep was carrying 12 passengers at the time. Out of them, nine sustained injuries.
The injured individuals have been identified as Bhima Budhathoki (62), Manjita Bohara (67), Bijay Budhathoki (38), Sapana Budhathoki (15), Chandrakala Mahatara (45), Pushpa Mahatara (18), Roshni Mahatara (8), Sita Budhathoki (46), and Gorelal Bohara (55).
They are currently undergoing treatment at Rapti Provincial Hospital in Tulsipur. The vehicle reportedly fell about four meters below the road.
The driver, Gyan Bahadur Mahatara of Kapurkot-5, has been taken into custody by police for further investigation.
