KATHMANDU: The Rotary E-Club of District 3292 and Rota Kids of the club conducted a joint installation ceremony to mark the beginning of the new Rotary year.
The event included the oath-taking of newly appointed Presidents Ms. Kanchan Tamang and Master Samyak Raj Shrestha. The ceremony was held in the presence of Rotary International District 3292 (Nepal–Bhutan) District Governor-Elect Mr. Bishnu Bahadur Karki.
Outgoing Presidents Mr. Raj Shrestha (Rotary E-Club) and Master Aarav Shrestha (Rota Kids) were recognized with letters of appreciation for their tenure.
Ms. Tamang, the first female president of the Rotary E-Club, outlined her intention to focus on women-centric projects under the theme “Rotary for Her.”
The installation ceremony was held online, consistent with the club’s status as Nepal’s first virtual Rotary E-Club. Service Chair Mr. Deepak Sapkota handed over cheques to Bhanodaya Secondary School and Lalitkalyan Secondary School to support scholarships for 60 students.
Outgoing President Mr. Raj Shrestha acknowledged the contributions of his board members and presented certificates of appreciation to Ms. Smita Pradhan and Mr. Kabidra Napit.
Charter President and Rota Kids project coordinator Mr. Anil Shrestha explained the origins and objectives of the Rota Kids initiative, emphasizing leadership and civic development in children.
The event was attended by former District Governors, Assistant Governors, and Rotarians from the district, who extended their congratulations to the new leadership.
