KATHMANDU: Laxman Paswan, the man accused of murdering Ruby Kumari Sah of Rautahat, has died. He succumbed to burn injuries this evening at the Kirtipur Burn Hospital.

He was rescued in a serious condition after attempting self-immolation and brought to the Burn Hospital for advanced treatment, said Apil Raj Bohara, spokesperson of the District Police Range, Kathmandu.

Paswan was found this morning injured following an act of failed self-immolation. A few days ago, Sah’s body was found inside a suitcase in Rautahat. Before self-immolation, Paswan had also posted a video on social media admitting his involvement in the incident.

According to the video, Sah is Paswan’s ex-girlfriend. Last Saturday, Sah’s body was found inside a suitcase on the roadside near Mudwalba Gate under the Gaur-Sirsia road section of Gaur Municipality-9 in Rautahat.
