DAILEKH: Two days after a van plunged 200 meters off the Karnali Highway into the Karnali River, a joint rescue team of the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepali Army, and locals continues to search for the wreckage and four missing passengers.

The missing individuals have been identified as Tularam Subedi, Ram Prasad Subedi, Srijana Khadka, and Mege Tiruwa, while the body of a fifth passenger, Jokhe Tiruwa, was recovered on the day of the crash.

The search operation, which involves APF divers and army drones, faces severe challenges due to the river’s deep, muddy water and a raging current that currently prevents rescuers from approaching the impact site from either the Dailekh or Achham sides.
