KATHMANDU: Police have arrested Anil Baba Basnet, the Chairman of Shiv Sena Nepal, in connection with the Tinkune incident.

Basnet was detained from the meeting venue of the United People’s Movement Struggle Committee of pro-monarchists.

According to pro-monarchist activist Rama Singh, Basnet was arrested from Navadurga Party Palace in Sukedhara after police arrived with a court-issued arrest warrant.

He was taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation into the violent monarchist protest held on Chaitra 15 (March 28), during which police had detained nearly a hundred individuals for questioning, detention, and legal action.
