KATHMANDU: Two young brothers have been found dead in a pond located at Sagarmatha Tole, Sunwal Municipality-6, in Nawalparasi West.

According to the police, the two boys had left home at 10 AM after having lunch and were discovered dead in the pond around 5 PM in the evening.

The deceased have been identified as 10-year-old Bipson Kanwar and 8-year-old Dipson Kanwar, sons of Bishnu Kanwar of Sunwal-6, said Santosh Paudel, chief of the Area Police Office, Sunwal.

Around 5 PM, locals noticed a child’s body floating in the pond and immediately informed the police.

After seeing two sets of children’s clothes by the edge of the pond, police suspected another child might have drowned as well.

Following this, a search was conducted by the police and local residents, and the second child was found submerged in the pond.

Both children were students of Janasewa Secondary School, studying in grades 2 and 4 respectively.
