UDAYAPUR:  One teenager has lost his life after being struck by lightning in Udayapur’s Katari.

The victim, 13-year-old Chit Bahadur Walampaki Magar of Ward 8, Katari Municipality, was found dead in the forest where he had gone to graze goats.

His family began searching for him when he did not return home by Monday evening. While searching, they found him in the forest, lying unconscious.

According to Ward Chairperson Nabin Tamang, “When the goats returned home but the boy didn’t, his father Man Bahadur went looking for him. During the search, he was found lying in the forest, having been struck by lightning.”

The boy was declared dead at the scene. The Katari Area Police Office has stated that further investigations into the incident will be conducted.
