The British College allegedly obstructed journalists from news collection

KATHMANDU: Thapathali-based The British College has been alleged of mistreating journalists Samir Joshi and Amrit Bhatta.

The Independent News Service (Corporate Branch) under the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has objected to the college’s alleged mistreatment of the journalists by its security guard.

Samir Joshi, a correspondent, and Amrit Bhatta, a camera person of nepalead.com reached the college premises to cover a news report regarding allegations that the college was sending students to Dubai as workers after charging exorbitant fees.

According to the statement, the college security guards picketed the journalists inside the college premises and obstructed them from collecting news.

The organization has demanded appropriate action regarding the alleged conduct of the college. Meanwhile, the college’s marketing section stated that the college was closed due to a holiday on New Year 2026, and therefore the journalists were unable to meet college officials for news collection.
