KATHMANDU: Three young girls drowned this afternoon while fishing in the Sisne River in Gauradaha Municipality-9, police reported.

The deceased have been identified as Sushma (7) and Swikriti (9), daughters of Anju Magar, and Roshni (11), daughter of Nirmala Pariyar.

According to the District Police Office, the girls drowned while attempting to catch fish.

Police have reached the site, and further investigation is underway.
