ACHHAM: Two people lost their lives and another was injured after a rock fell from a cliff onto a chhau goth (menstrual hut) where they were sleeping.

Police confirmed that the two victims died on the spot. According to DSP Om Prakash Khanal, the deceased have been identified as 35-year-old Nim Khanal of Churkhuli Tol, Panchdeval Binayak Municipality–8, and seven-year-old Kabita, daughter of Gore Bhandari of Mangalsen Municipality–6.

They were crushed by a rock early this morning while sleeping inside the menstrual hut. Kabita’s mother, who was also inside the hut, sustained injuries and has been taken to a local health post for treatment.

A police team led by Inspector Tek Bahadur Deuba has been dispatched to the incident site, Deputy Superintendent of Police Khanal informed.
