JHAPA: Two persons died and two others received critical injuries in a road accident at Barhadashi rural municipality of Jhapa district on Wednesday.

According to the District Police Office, Jhapa, a deceased one has been identified as Shree Prasad Rajbanshi, 60, of Kachankawal rural municipality-3 while another is yet to be identified.

Spokesperson at the office, Khadga Bahadur Khadka, said the accident took place when a motorcycle with Indian number plate heading towards Kuti from Rajgadh and a scooter (Pra 1-01-016 Pa 9270) coming from opposite direction collided each other.

Both riders injured critically were rushed to the provincial hospital where they breathed their last.

Similarly, a pillion rider of a scooter Urmila Rajbanshi, daughter-in-law of Shree Prasad, and his three-year-old grandson Ayush Rajbanshi were injured in the incident.

They are undergoing treatment at Birtamod-based B&C Hospital.
