TRISHULI: Two houses perished in fire occurred at Jalkuni of Kakani rural municipality-1 in Nuwakot district on Tuesday.

Entire property in the house- money, jewelries, food grains, clothes and utensils- turned into ashes in the fire. The loss nears Rs 10 million in total, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police at District Police Office in Nuwakot, Bikram Lama.

The fire had broken out from a house of local Balram Balami due to short circuit which spread to other houses gradually.

The houses were made of mud and stone. However, the joint rescue efforts of locals and security persons saved the human and livestock from inferno.

Kakani rural municipality prepared temporary structures for the homeless families, while the District Administration Office, Nuwakot has been recommended to provide monetary support and the District Red Cross the non-monetary assistance.
