ISLAMABAD: A bomb blast on the railway track near the Sultan Kot station in Pakistan’s Shikarpur district (Sindh province) on Tuesday derailed four coaches of the Quetta-bound Jaffar Express, injuring at least seven people.
The explosion occurred at approximately 8:15 AM local time, damaging the single track and disrupting travel on the busy Quetta-Jacobabad route.
The injured passengers have been hospitalized, with four taken to the Combined Military Hospital.
Provincial police have launched a manhunt to find the culprits responsible for the attack. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah condemned the incident and ordered medical aid for the victims and a security report.
This attack is the latest in a series of similar incidents, including two bombings in August, targeting the Jaffar Express, which underscore the rising threat from militant groups aiming to disrupt the region’s transport infrastructure.
