50 mountain bike racers participating in Int’l Mountain Bike Race

KASKI: The third edition of Enduro International Mountain Bike Competition is going to be organised in Pokhara from November 13.

The competition would be organised at Arba-Bijay hill of Pokhara metropolitan city-13, which is at an altitude of 1,360 meters. It will run till November 15. All preparation for bike competition have completed, according to the organiser, Dawn ’til Dusk, Mountain Bike company.

Race director of the competition, Sunil Chandra Sharma, said 50 riders from eight countries– Nepal, Germany, Singapore, Australia, the UK, Sri Lanka, Oman and the US would compete in the race.

Earlier, 13 countries had registered their names for the competition, but five countries cancelled their registration following Gen Z protest in Nepal.

There would be competition in six tracks under six categories– Men Junior (12-18 years), Women Open (18 years), Elite (above 29 years), Master ‘A’ 930-39 years), Masters ‘B’ (40-49 years) and Veteran (above 50 years).

The Enduro Bike Championship is expected to help promote Nepal’s tourism by attracting a large number of ‘Mountain Bike’ riders around the world, said Coordinator of the competition, Sharma.
