KATHMANDU: Karnali Yaks Sports Pvt. Ltd. has signed Australian all-rounder William Bosisto for the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), set to take place from November 17 to December 13.

Grihendra Ghimire, director of Karnali Yaks, confirmed that Bosisto, a player from the Australia U-19 team, will join the team for the upcoming tournament.

He becomes the second foreign player contracted by Karnali Yaks, following Scotland spinner Mark Robert James Watt.

Ghimire noted that Bosisto’s experience from the first NPL edition is expected to benefit the team in this second edition.

“After the first edition’s performance met expectations, both parties agreed to continue for the second edition. We are confident it will be even better,” he said.

In the first edition, the 32-year-old scored 194 runs in 7 matches, including two half-centuries, and claimed 9 wickets.

Bosisto was the captain of the Australian team that finished as runners-up in the 2012 U-19 Cricket World Cup, earning the Player of the Tournament title with 276 runs in 6 matches.

Ghimire also revealed that other foreign players will be announced soon, as Karnali Yaks intensifies preparations for the second edition.

Additionally, the team has retained key players including Sompal Kami, Gulshan Jha, Nandan Yadav, Bipin Prasad Sharma, Dipendra Rawat, Arjun Gharti, and Yunis Singh Thakuri. Bipin Prasad Sharma emerged as a rising star in Nepali cricket through the first edition’s Talent Hunt.
