Bangladesh crushes Scotland by 90 runs

KATHMANDU: In a Super Six stage match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier held today at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Bangladesh secured a commanding 90-run victory over Scotland.

Bangladesh, having already qualified for the Women’s World Cup, posted a formidable total of 191 runs, which is the highest in this qualification tournament.

Captain Nigar Sultana of Bangladesh led the charge with a half-century, scoring 56 runs, while Sobhana Mostary contributed 47 and Juairiya Ferdous added 22 runs.

In pursuit of the challenging target, Scotland managed only 101 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Bangladesh’s Marufa Akter took three wickets, and Shorna Akter took two to restrict the Scottish side to a low total.
