KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced a 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Asia and East Asia-Pacific Qualifiers, which will begin in Oman from Wednesday.
According to CAN spokesperson Chhumbi Lama, from the 16-member squad that recently toured the UAE to play a three-match series against the West Indies, Sahab Alam has been left out.
Sandeep Lamichhane has been included in the squad.
Earlier, he had refused to take the field about 45 minutes before the first match against the West Indies.
As disciplinary action, CAN had suspended him for the final two games of that series.
The squad for the qualifiers includes captain Rohit Paudel, vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee, Sandeep Jora, Sandeep Lamichhane, Kushal Bhurtel, Lokesh Bam, Kushal Malla, and Aasif Sheikh.
Similarly, Aadil Alam, Karan KC, Nandan Yadav, Arif Sheikh, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Gulshan Jha, and Sompal Kami have also been included.
CAN confirmed that the team has already reached Oman for the competition.
