KATHMANDU: Nepal’s celebrated defender Rohit Chand has been included in the newly formed Asia Warriors FC, an initiative led by Japanese football star Keisuke Honda.

Launched this year, Asia Warriors FC aims to unite renowned football players from across Asia. The project is a joint initiative by Japan’s Keisuke Honda and the Philippines’ Anton del Rosario.

It seeks to promote peace, hope, and collaboration through football. As part of the initiative, the team is scheduled to play two friendly matches.

The first friendly took place on July 20 at Brawijaya Stadium in Indonesia, where Asia Warriors suffered a 2–0 defeat against the local club Persik Kediri.

The second match is scheduled for July 27 against Malaysian side Selangor FC in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
