Nepali Para Taekwondo player Palesha Govardhan has won a bronze medal at the Asian Para Games 2022 in Hangzhou, China. She became the first Nepali athlete to win a medal in the Asian Para Games.

Palesha defeated China’s Yang Liting 14-1 in the first match and entered the semi-finals. She lost 16-10 to Kamilya Dosamlova of Kazakhstan in the semi-finals.

 She participated in the Asian Para Games under the training of coach Kabiraj Negi Lama. She is currently studying in China.

Palesha also competed in the last Tokyo Para Olympics.
