KATHMANDU: Janakpur Bolts has faced three defeats in a row in the ongoing second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) in Kathmandu.
With its loss to Pokhara Avengers by 25 runs today, Janakpur Bolts met the failure for three times in the ongoing cricket tournament.
Pokhara Avengers, which chose batting first, made 155 runs in 20 overs at a loss of 6 wickets in the match played at TU International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur on Thursday.
Pokhara Avengers limited Janakpur Bolts to 130 runs. While chasing the 156-run victory target, Janakpur was able to secure only 130 runs- at a loss of nine wickets.
For Janakpur Bolts, Wayne Parnell played half century plus, earning four sixes and two fours in 38 balls. Similarly, Sanjay Krishnamurthi made 25 runs and Maaz Sadaqat 20 runs. In the bowling, Bipin Khatri took four wickets, Sumit Verma two wickets and Kushal Bhurtel and Jimmi Nisam one wicket each.
Earlier, Sumit Verma played half century plus for Pokhara. In 29 balls, he made 50 runs, including four sixes and two fours. Dinesh Kharel secured 38 runs, while Tritraj Das 29, and Adam Rosington 24.
For the bowling, Sanjay Krishnamurthi took three wickets and Captain Anil Sah and Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi one wicket each.
Janakpur Bolts was earlier defeated by Kathmandu Gorkhas with five wickets and by Biratnagar Kings with nine wickets.
In the Friday match under NPL, Chitwan Rhinos and Kathmandu Gorkhas are in the fray at 11:45 am, while Karnali Yaks and Biratnagar Kings in the second match at 4:00pm.
