KATHMANDU: World-renowned Japanese karate uniform company Shureido has officially sponsored Nepali karate athlete Erika Gurung, providing her with four sets of uniforms, one bag, four shin guards, four belts, four pairs of gloves, and five T-shirts. Gurung is the first Nepali athlete to receive such support from the company.

The two-year agreement includes annual provision of equipment. National team chief coach Kushal Shrestha said international support boosts athletes’ morale and performance.

The sponsorship marks a milestone for Nepali karate and signals growing international interest in Nepali athletes.
