LALITPUR: Machhindra Club and Jawalakhel Youth Club have recorded victories in the ANFA U-16 Youth League matches.
On Tuesday at the ANFA ground in Satdobato, Machhindra thrashed Planning Boys United with a commanding 7-0 scoreline. Kiran Dhami and Samun Bamthakuri each scored two goals to lead the one-sided game. Additionally, Bikas Thapa, Rahulkumar Yonjan, and Aryaveer Singh contributed one goal each.
With this win, Machhindra secured their second consecutive victory in the league and have accumulated 6 points.
Planning Boys United, who suffered their first defeat, have 3 points from two matches. Previously, Machhindra had beaten APF, while Planning had defeated Satdobato Youth Club.
In another match, Jawalakhel Youth Club edged departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club 3-2 in a competitive encounter. Vishal Shahi scored twice for Jawalakhel, and Prince Bhujel added another goal. For the Army team, Niraj Adhikari and Sohit Waiba scored one goal each.
Jawalakhel secured their first win in the second match, earning 3 points, while Army, despite their first loss, also have 3 points.
The league, organized by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), features 14 clubs from the ‘A’ division.
The winning team will receive a prize of NPR 100,000, and the runner-up will get NPR 50,000. Individual awards for the best player and the most disciplined team will each be given NPR 15,000, as announced by ANFA.
