Malaysia sets Nepal U-16 a target of 91 runs in East Zone Cup Semifinal

 KUALA LUMPUR: In the semifinals of the ACC Men’s U-16 East Zone Cup 2025, Malaysia has set a target of 91 runs for defending champions Nepal.

Batting first after losing the toss, Malaysia was all out for 90 runs in 43.1 overs at the Selangor Turf Club ground.

Malaysia’s innings started poorly, losing two early wickets with just 4 runs on the board. Azib Wajdi was run out on the fourth ball of the third over, followed shortly by wicketkeeper Muhammad Ahnaf Zuhdi, who was bowled by Nepal’s Abhay Yadav for 4 runs.

Abhay Yadav also dismissed Muhammad Nur Adam after the latter scored 7 runs. Malaysia’s captain, Deeaz Patro, scored 10 runs before being caught by Nepal’s Shubham Khanal.

Top scorer for Malaysia was Muhammad Fathul Muin with 38 runs off 71 balls, including 6 fours and 1 six.

For Nepal, Abhay Yadav bowled 10 overs, conceding only 15 runs while taking 4 wickets. Shubham Khanal took 3 wickets, bowling 10 overs with 4 maidens for just 12 runs.

Bipin Sharma and Sachin Bhatta claimed one wicket each.
