National Football League starts Wednesday with Rs 5 million prize

KATHMANDU: The All-Nepal Football Association (ANFA) held a press conference on Tuesday to provide details about the upcoming National League Football Tournament, which will kick off on 14 Jan.

A total of 17 clubs will participate in the league, which will be played in a single round-robin format, featuring 136 matches in total. The opening match will be contested between Kankrebihar Youth Club and Friends Club, while Shree Bhagwati Club will face Church Boys Club on the same day.

Both matches will take place at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato. ANFA has also announced that the winner of the National League will receive a cash prize of Rs 5 million, the runner-up Rs 2.5 million, and the third-placed team NPR 1.5 million. Additionally, the most disciplined (Fair Play) team will be awarded Rs 100,000.

The league will feature 17 clubs, including Church Boys United, Machhindra Club, Nepal Police Club, Jawalakhel Youth Club, Satdobato Youth Club, Neurod Team (NRT), Laligurans Youth Club, Chitlang FC, Nav Janajagriti Club, Kakrevihar Sports Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Manang Marsyangdi Club, Sankata Club, Friends Club, APF Club, Planning Boys Club, and Shri Bhagwati Club. The opening match will be contested between Kakrevihar Sports Club and Friends Club.
