Nepal crush USA by nine wickets as Kushal Bhurtel hits brilliant century

KATHMANDU: Nepal registered a dominant nine-wicket victory over the United States after opener Kushal Bhurtel struck a magnificent unbeaten century in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 on Saturday.

Chasing a target of 196 runs, Nepal reached 199 for 1 in just 36.4 overs.

Opener Kushal Bhurtel remained unbeaten on 120 runs off 118 balls, smashing 13 fours and four sixes in a match-winning innings.

Similarly, Aasif Sheikh contributed 58 runs off 72 balls, while Ishan Pandey added 20 runs from 30 deliveries.

For the United States, Mohammad Mohsin claimed the lone wicket.

Earlier, after winning the toss at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, the USA opted to bat first and were bowled out for 195 runs in 43.3 overs.
