KATHMANDU: In the second match of the five-game international T20 series, Nepal secured a 6-wicket victory over Malaysia, leveling the series at 1–1.
Batting first, Malaysia had set a target of 92 runs, which Nepal successfully chased in 16.2 overs, losing four wickets.
Puja Mahato played a key role with the bat, scoring 39 runs off 39 balls with controlled and steady batting. Captain Indu Burma added 27 runs off 21 balls.
Malaysia, playing at home at the Bayumas Oval, had scored 91 runs for the loss of four wickets in their full 20 overs.
Opener Aina Hamiz remained unbeaten, scoring 50 runs off 63 balls. For Nepal, Somu Bista claimed two wickets while Kabita Kunwar took one, helping to restrict Malaysia to a modest total.
After losing the toss, the captains of Malaysia and Nepal led their respective teams. In Thursday’s first match, Nepal had lost by three runs.
With the second match victory, Nepal and Malaysia now share the series 1–1.
