Nepal placed in Group ‘B’ for ICC T20 World Cup East-Asia Qualifier

KATHMANDU: Nepal has been placed in Group ‘B’ for the ICC T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia Regional Qualifier.

According to the group division announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday, Nepal will compete in Group ‘B’ alongside Kuwait and Japan.

A total of nine teams will take part in the first phase of the qualifier, divided into three groups.

Group ‘A’ includes the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Malaysia, and Qatar. Group ‘C’ features Oman, Papua New Guinea, and Samoa.

The qualification tournament will be held in Oman from October 8 to 17.

The matches will follow a single round-robin format, and the top two teams from each group will advance to the ‘Super Six’ stage.

From the Super Six, the top three teams will qualify for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
