KATHMANDU: Nepal and hosts Bangladesh are set to compete today (Monday) in the decisive match of the U-20 SAFF Women’s Championship.
The match will be held at the Bashundhara Sports Ground in Dhaka and will kick off at 6:45 PM Nepali time.
This marks the second encounter between Nepal and Bangladesh in the tournament.
In their earlier meeting, Nepal narrowly lost to Bangladesh 3–2. However, Nepal registered victories against both Bhutan and Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh remain unbeaten in their five matches, securing the top spot with 15 points. Nepal follow closely behind with 12 points.
Nepal must win today’s match to claim the championship title.
A victory would put both teams level on points, but Nepal would emerge winners based on goal difference. Bangladesh, on the other hand, only need a draw to become champions.
Earlier today, Bhutan and Sri Lanka are scheduled to face off at 2:45 PM Nepali time.
Bhutan stand third with 3 points, while Sri Lanka are at the bottom of the table with no points.
