KATHMANDU: Nepal will take on Qatar today in the Super Six stage of the ICC T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia Pacific Qualifier.
Nepal, the Group ‘B’ winner, has already secured four points by defeating Group ‘A’ winner UAE by one run.
With no points yet, Qatar will be aiming for an upset, while Nepal targets a win to secure its place in the World Cup.
The match between Nepal and Qatar will begin at 8:45 PM (Nepal time) in Oman on Monday.
Having already defeated UAE, Nepal will also compete against Oman and Samoa in the Super Six stage.
After facing Qatar on Monday, Nepal will play Oman on Wednesday. The final Super Six match will be against Samoa on Friday.
Among the six Super Six teams—Nepal, UAE, Oman, Japan, Qatar, and Samoa—the top three will qualify for the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka.
Currently, both Oman and Nepal have four points each. Oman leads the table based on a superior net run rate, with Nepal in second place.
UAE and Japan, with two points each, sit in third and fourth positions respectively, while Qatar and Samoa remain without points.
