KATHMANDU: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially decided to host the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier in Nepal.
The tournament will be held from January 12 to February 2, 2026.
Ten teams will compete in the qualifier, divided into groups. The top three teams from each group will advance to the Super Six stage. From there, the top four teams will qualify for the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, which is set to take place in England and Wales.
While the fixture list is yet to be announced, the ICC has already confirmed the participating teams and group divisions.
Nepal qualified for the global event through the Asia regional qualifier, along with Thailand. The USA secured its place through the Americas qualifier.
The remaining five slots will be filled by two teams each from Africa and Europe, and one from the East Asia-Pacific region.
New Zealand are the reigning champions of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
