KATHMANDU: Nepal women made a strong comeback in the T20I series, defeating Malaysia women by six wickets in the fourth match on Tuesday.
With this win, the five-match series is now tied 2–2, and Wednesday’s final game will decide the series winner.
Malaysia had won the first match by three wickets, but Nepal bounced back in the second match with a six-wicket victory to level the series 1–1.
In the third match, Malaysia secured a 13-run win to take a 2–1 lead. Chasing a target of 112 runs, Nepal scored 115 for four in 17.3 overs.
Captain Indu Barma remained unbeaten with a top score of 48 off 39 balls, hitting six boundaries.
Rubina Khatri contributed an unbeaten 23 off 23 balls, including two fours and a six.
Other contributions came from Kabita Kunwar (16), Samjhana Khadka (11), Ruby Poddar (5), and vice-captain Puja Mahato (7).
For Malaysia, Ainna Hasim, Nur Daniya, and Izzati Islam claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, Malaysia, batting first at the Biomass Oval, posted 111 for five wickets.
Maas Alisa top-scored with 56 runs off 63 balls, including five boundaries, while Izzati scored 18 and Nur 15.
Nepal’s Kabita Kunwar was the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets for just 10 runs in four overs.
Puja Mahato and Kabita Joshi claimed one wicket each.
