KATHMANDU: The Nepal national women’s football team has climbed 13 spots in the latest FIFA rankings, reaching 87th position — the highest ever in its history.
The new rankings, published by FIFA on Thursday, show a significant jump from Nepal’s previous 100th position.
The team’s earlier best was 91st, making this a landmark achievement.
Nepal’s rise comes on the back of impressive performances during the AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers held in Uzbekistan in July.
