KATHMANDU: In an exciting turn of events at the Nepal Premier League (NPL), Rohit Paudel, the captain of Lumbini Lions, has made headlines by claiming a hat-trick of wickets.
In today’s thrilling final match, he secured three wickets, marking his impressive hat-trick.
This achievement makes Rohit the second bowler this season to accomplish such a feat, following Shahab Alam of Kathmandu Gorkhas, who recorded the first hat-trick earlier in the season.
Rohit set a remarkable record against Pokhara Avengers, taking six wickets in total, which included his hat-trick. Shahab Alam also etched his name in the record books as the first bowler to take six wickets in a single match.
Prior to this, Ranjit Kumar of Chitwan Rhinos had set the bar with five wickets in a single game.
Additionally, several players have also shone brightly by taking four wickets in a match, including Dipendra Singh Airee, captain of Sudurpaschim Royals; Avinash Bohara from the same team; Sandeep Lamichhane, captain of Biratnagar Kings; Bipin Khatri of Pokhara Avengers; Sohel Tanvir of Chitwan Rhinos; and Dhananjay Lakshan of Pokhara.
