KATHMANDU:  Nepali national women’s football team captain Savitra Bhandari ‘Samba’ has signed with Wellington Phoenix Football Club in New Zealand.

Phoenix have signed Samba for the new season of Australia’s A-League. Samba, who previously played for French club En Avant Guingamp, announced her departure from Guingamp on social media.

Samba has experience playing in leagues from Israel to India and the Maldives.
