KATHMANDU: Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has called on his supporters to remain calm and avoid spreading hate or negativity amid a recent controversy.

In a Facebook status posted on Friday, Lamichhane expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he has received but urged fans not to direct anger or abuse toward anyone.

“What happened was really not acceptable, and I completely understand all of your emotions and why many of you reacted strongly or expressed anger toward them for what was said. But please, let’s not spread any hate or negativity toward anyone. No one really deserves that,” he wrote.

Lamichhane said that his legal team was already handling the issue.

“My lawyer is already looking into everything,” he stated, adding that he would address the matter in more detail after returning from Dubai, where he is currently focused on the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 matches.

Emphasizing calm and compassion, the leg-spinner wrote, “Let’s continue choosing kindness and respect, even when things feel unfair. And I feel that’s the only way real change and peace can happen.”
