KATHMANDU:The Nepali national cricket team is set to take on Kuwait today in the ICC T20 World Cup Asia-East Asia Pacific Qualifiers.
A total of nine nations are participating in this regional qualification tournament.
Nepal is placed in Group ‘B’ alongside Kuwait and Japan.
The match between Nepal and Kuwait will begin at 8:45 PM on Wednesday.
Nepal will play its second group-stage match against Japan on Friday.
Nepal has a mixed record against Kuwait in previous encounters, while this will be its first-ever T20 meeting with Japan.
In the other groups, Group ‘A’ features UAE, Malaysia, and Qatar, while Group ‘C’ includes Oman, Papua New Guinea, and Samoa.
After lifting the T20 series trophy against the West Indies in the UAE and winning both practice matches held in Oman, the Nepali squad enters the qualifiers with high confidence and strong momentum.
