Tribhuvan Army Club enter semifinals with Bimala’s hat-trick

BIRTAMOD: Tribhuvan Army Football Club secured their place in the semifinals of the Jhapa Women’s Gold Cup with a commanding 6–0 victory over RS Pokhara FC in the final quarterfinal match held Thursday at Dudhe Stadium.

From the very start, Army dominated ball possession and pressed forward with continuous attacks.

In the 10th minute, forward Bimala Chaudhary missed an early chance after Pokhara’s goalkeeper Gayatri Malla was beaten. However, in the 16th minute, Jennifer Rana Magar opened the scoring with a header from defender Bimala BK’s free-kick, which was earned after Usha Shahi fouled Deepa Rai.

Army doubled their lead in the 33rd minute when Chaudhary took advantage of a goalkeeping error to score with a header, assisted by Hima Chaudhary.

In the first-half injury time, national player Bimala BK extended the lead to 3–0 with a superb finish off a corner kick.

Army continued their dominance in the second half.

In the 85th minute, Bimala Chaudhary scored her second goal of the match, assisted by Sanju Kumal, to make it 4–0.

Five minutes later, Sharmila Thapa netted from Bimala BK’s cross, increasing the score to 5–0.

In injury time, Chaudhary completed her hat-trick with a header from Anita Lamjel’s corner, sealing a comfortable 6–0 win for the departmental side.

Tribhuvan Army displayed superior ball possession, passing, and finishing, while Pokhara struggled with weak defense and goalkeeping.

For Army, Bimala Chaudhary scored three goals, while Bimala BK, Jennifer Rana, and Sharmila Thapa added one each.

Chaudhary was named Player of the Match and received Rs 15,000 and a trophy.

With this result, the semifinals lineup for the LVD Jhapa Women’s Gold Cup is complete.

Nepal Police Club will face Sankata Football Club in the first semifinal, while APF Football Club will take on Tribhuvan Army Football Club in the second.
