Unity Cup T20 series: Nepal faces defeat in final match

KATHMANDU: Nepal faced a ten-wicket defeat in the third and final match of the Unity Cup T20 Series against the West Indies, held late on September 30 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This marked the first win for the West Indies in the series. Despite the loss, Nepal had already secured the series title by winning the first two matches which are historic victories over the West Indies, a two-time T20 World Cup champion.

Nepal won the opening game by 19 runs and dominated the second match with a commanding 90-run victory.In the  match, Nepal was sent into bat after losing the toss and managed to post 122 runs before being bowled out in 19.5 overs. Chasing a target of 123, the West Indies reached the total comfortably in just 12.2 overs without losing a wicket.

For the West Indies, opener Amir Jangoo was the standout performer, remaining unbeaten on 74 runs from 45 balls. Ackeem Auguste also stayed not out, contributing 41 runs to seal the victory.—
