KATHMANDU: The start of the final match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 triangular series between Nepal and the United States has been delayed due to a wet outfield at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

Earlier, the USA won the toss and elected to field first, but groundstaff are now working to clear the damp conditions before play can officially begin.

Nepal enters the match aiming for a victorious end to their home series, having convincingly defeated the USA by 9 wickets in their previous encounter thanks to an unbeaten century from Kushal Bhurtel.

While Nepal wants to capitalize on home conditions to improve their points table standing after winning two of their last three matches, the visiting American team enters with high morale following a recent dominant win over Scotland.

However, the USA faces a tough challenge as Nepal holds a perfect historical record against them at this venue, winning all three of their previous ODI encounters.
