Ganeshpur Park is becoming touristic hub

DANG: Rapti Peace Park also known as Ganeshpur Park located at Tulasipur-7 is becoming one of the major touristic destinations of Dang district. A large number of tourists visit Ganeshpur Park.

Statue of Lord Gautam Buddha installed inside the park is the main attraction of the park. People can also enjoy the beautiful greenery environment here as the park is located on the lap of community forest.

Chairperson of Park Management Committee, Dilli Raj Bhandari, said, “The place is beautiful in itself. Water fountain, water falling from artificial mountain as well as monkeys, owls, rabbits and deer kept in the zoo are also the attraction of the park.”

An arrangement of boating has also been made in the pond constructed there and the pond has around 5,000 fishes. Horse riding service is also available in the park.

Different types of plants and flowers have been grown in the park, which have glorified the park. Similarly, there is also a park for children as well as swimming pool, he added.

The Ganeshpur Park welcomes around 400-500 tourists visit every day, Bhandari stated, adding the number increases up to 2,000-3,000 during festivals and holiday. In average, more than 200,000 tourists visit the park in a year.

Tourists from Banke, Bardiya, Salyan, Rukum and Rolpa also arrive here to visit the park. The park management committee has made arrangement of 50 per cent discount to students and free entry to disabled, helpless and senior citizens.

One has to pay Rs 30 to enter the park.
