Nihao China tourism promotion event concludes exploring Nepal-China tourism cooperation

KATHMANDU: In its bid to promote tourism, cultures, cuisines and experiences of Nepal and China, a promotion event was organized in Kathmandu on Thursday.

Organized by China National Tourist Office in Kathmandu, the “Nihao! China” Tourism Promotion programme was concluded by showcasing several cultural performances, promotional activities and awards distribution.

On the occasion, Director of China National Tourist Office in Kathmandu, Xiao Jiang, said that the Office is dedicated to building connection between the tourism fraternities of Nepal and China, and highlighted the tourism packages offered by China to the visitors from Nepal and beyond.

Director Xiao said that the Office has been working to build connections and cooperation platforms between the tourism institutions and enterprises of the two countries.

“We support and assist local governments in China to promote their tourism resources, travel routes and products in Nepal,” she added.

Likewise, Director Xiao said that the Office selects Nepali outbound tour agents to participate in the China International Travel Mart (CITM) and attend major international tourism festivals in China to help Nepali travel operators better explore the Chinese tourism market and build business links with their Chinese counterparts.

Similarly, Mohan Suwal, an official at the China National Tourism Office, shared his views on Chinese tourism attractions and possible collaboration between the two countries in fostering tourism business.

He also made a detail presentation on the varieties of Chinese cuisines adding that China is rich in its cuisines and food cultures.

Also speaking at the event, the General Manager of Air China in Kathmandu, Ma Kun, pledged to work for deepening tourism collaboration between the two countries and serve as a platform to promote exchanges.

The programme was attended by diplomats, airlines companies, tourism leaders, representatives of Nepali and Chinese travel agencies and others.

Different top selling travel agencies were awarded for their best business practices and collaboration with Air China.

The China National Tourist Office in Kathmandu was established in 2001 to promote tourism information and resources of China, and to facilitate Nepali travelers visiting China.
