GANDAKI: Tourism entrepreneurs of Pokhara called on Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal and drew his attention about the problems facing the tourism sector.

At the meeting held at Singha Durbar today, a delegation led by Chairperson of Pokhara Tourism Council, Taranath Pahari, drew the minster’s attention to the issues including revival of tourism sector.

On the occasion, the tourism entrepreneurs handed a letter of attention with various charter of demands.

It is noted in the letter that the incidents of arson and vandalism occurred during the Gen Z protests have inflicted a huge loss in the tourism sector when the peak season was about to start.

The delegation demanded legal action by identifying the groups and individuals involved in the incidents of vandalism, arson and robbery in corporate houses during the protests, and prompt arrangement of victim entrepreneurs.

Citing the cancellation of trip package and bookings by the tourists following the unrest, they urged the minister to take necessary initiative for the revival of the tourism sector in the adverse situation.
