DUBAI: A number of global airlines have suspended flights to destinations across the Middle East as security conditions deteriorate following a military operation in the region. Several countries, including Iran, Iraq and Israel, have also closed their airspace to civilian traffic.
Germany’s flag carrier Lufthansa said it has halted flights to and from Tel Aviv, Beirut and Oman until March 7, and suspended services to and from Dubai over the weekend. The airline also announced it will avoid Israeli, Lebanese, Jordanian, Iraqi and Iranian airspace until at least March 7.
Indian carriers Air India and IndiGo said they have suspended all flights to the Middle East. “In view of the developing situation in parts of the Middle East, all Air India flights to all destinations in the Middle East have been suspended,” Air India said in a statement posted on X.
The cancellations reflect growing disruption to regional air travel as airlines respond to escalating security risks and airspace closures.
