KATHMANDU: Nestled in the lap of the Annapurna mountain range at an altitude of 4,919 meters above sea level, Tilicho Lake is world-renowned for its breathtaking beauty.

Until 2019—when a team of mountaineers discovered Kajin Sara Lake—it was recognized as the highest lake in the world.

Geographically and environmentally unique, Tilicho is also considered one of the most spectacular trekking destinations globally.

The best times to visit are from mid-September to mid-November and mid-March to mid-May, when the skies are clear, the Himalayan peaks glisten, and the lake’s mesmerizing scenery offers a deeply rewarding experience.

The main attraction of Tilicho lies in its deep, crystal-clear blue waters, reflecting the surrounding snowcapped peaks—Tilicho Peak, Nilgiri Himal, Khangsar, and Annapurna.

The lake is formed by the melting snow from these towering mountains, making it a pristine natural wonder high in the Himalayas.
