KATHMANDU: The Flood Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a flood alert for Thursday (July 10), warning of rising water levels in small rivers across several districts.
While major rivers like Koshi, Narayani, Karnali, Mahakali, Kamala, Bagmati, and Rapti are currently below warning levels, localized flood risks remain.
Districts including Doti, Dadeldhura, Kanchanpur, Kailali, and surrounding areas face a high chance of sudden floods due to rising river levels.
Moderate flood risk has also been forecast for small rivers in 26 districts including Dolakha, Sindhupalchok, Rasuwa, Kathmandu Valley, Kaski, Jumla, and others.
The division has issued a yellow alert, urging caution in riverbank settlements and flood-prone zones.
