KATHMANDU: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has urged the closure of riverside (corridor) roads in the Kathmandu Valley from 6:00 PM today until 6:00 AM tomorrow.
The authority, in a statement issued today, highlighted ongoing heavy to very heavy rainfall across the country, including the Kathmandu Valley, and requested the three district administrations of the valley to restrict traffic on these roads.
NDRRMA warned that rainfall is expected to intensify tonight, raising water levels in rivers and increasing the risk of flooding along riverside roads.
To minimize potential hazards, the authority requested that traffic on the corridor roads in the Kathmandu Valley be restricted as necessary from 6:00 PM today until 6:00 AM tomorrow.
