KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast generally cloudy conditions across the country today, with rainfall and windstorms expected in several regions.

According to the department, the monsoon low-pressure trough is currently positioned south of its average location, contributing to widespread cloud cover this afternoon.

Moderate rainfall has been predicted in hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, while light showers may occur at one or two places in the Terai.

Parts of Madhes Province and the Terai belt of Lumbini Province may also experience windstorms. Authorities cautioned that rising water levels in rivers and streams could obstruct transportation.

The public has been advised to remain alert and adopt necessary safety measures.
