KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the influence of monsoon winds remains weak across the country.

The monsoon trough is currently located south of its average position. According to the department, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces will see generally cloudy skies on Thursday, while the remaining provinces are expected to have partly cloudy conditions.

There is a chance of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at a few places in other parts of the country.

For tonight, the weather will remain generally cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, with partly cloudy conditions elsewhere.

The department’s latest bulletin forecasts light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at a few places in Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, and at isolated places in other provinces.

Additionally, heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two locations in the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi Province and some areas of Madhesh Province.
