KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has warned of potential extremely heavy rainfall tonight in certain hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, amid currently widespread cloudy skies and ongoing light to moderate rain across most parts of the country.

Over Monday and Tuesday, the weather will remain mostly cloudy in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, with general cloud cover in Karnali and Sudurpashchim.

Heavy rainfall is expected to persist through early next week, threatening a few hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces on Monday, and expanding to include parts of Lumbini’s hilly terrain, alongside isolated lowland areas of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki by Tuesday.
