KATHMANDU: Currently, the monsoon winds are affecting the entire country and the low pressure area around Uttar Pradesh, India is also having an impact.

The low pressure line of the monsoon is around the Sardar area, according to the Hydrology and Meteorology Forecasting Division.

While it will remain generally cloudy across the country this afternoon, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

According to the division, heavy rainfall is likely in one or two places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall in some places in the high hills and mountainous parts of the country. There is a possibility of gusty winds in some places in the Terai region of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

Stating that there is a risk of flooding, landslides and flash floods due to the possible rainfall, the division has requested the general public in the urban and Terai areas to be cautious as there is a risk of inundation.

The water level in large and small rivers and streams may rise, affecting daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, roads and air transport around the river areas, so the general public and all concerned bodies have been requested to adopt necessary precautions and prepare.
